Speed Up Your Terminal

I’m a relatively new Mac user and one of the things that was really annoying me was how slow the cursor was in Terminal. Matt from Prospress gave me a tip that Brent Shepherd gave him. Bump up your Key Repeat to Fast and Delay Until Repeat to Short in your Keyboard settings:

System Preferences -> Keyboard

System Preferences -> Keyboard

Another terminal tip from Lachlan is that you can Option + Click to move your cursor using your mouse in Terminal.

    You can (and should) set a repeat rate faster than the preferences pane allows by typing this into terminal:

    defaults write NSGlobalDomain KeyRepeat -int 0

    Source

    You can gain hours in your life doing that. 😉
